Dayton pain center is an outpatient pain clinic that provides comprehensive management of chronic and cancer pain. We also accept patients with acute and chronic pain related to personal Injuries or work Injuries

Chronic Pain is Complex problem that often affects a personís mood, family relationships and ability to participate in work or recreation. Physician referral is the preferred method to obtain an initial appointment at our center. Your physician would have performed an initial evaluation and referred you to our facility to be evaluated and to see what type of pain management is best suited for you. Our goals are to help you manage and cope with chronic pain by offering best available current medical treatments in the field of pain medicine, so that you may become more functional in your daily activities

Dayton pain Center offers a wide range of alternatives to chronic medications to control pain. We often use interventional pain procedures, physical therapy modalities along with chronic medications to control pain. We are specialized in arthritis pain and provide joint injections. For those patients with intractable pain despite conservative care, we offer placement and maintenance of permanent continuous drip intrathecal pumps. We offer home exercise programs and instruct patients in using the out patient TENS machine. When indicated, we refer patients to psychologists, psychiatrists, physical therapists, appropriate rehab services, acupuncture specialists for alternative treatment modalities

We make ethical and clinical judgments in the best interest of the individual in pain, follow the principles of confidentiality and informed consent.

Cancer Pain, Chronic Pain and Related Symptoms

The Dayton Pain Center started as center of excellence for the management of pain, due to cancer and its treatment. With the recognition that many of the same principles and approaches are relevant for chronic pain from other disorders such as arthritis, degenerative disk disease, trauma, headaches and neuropathy. Accordingly the scope of the program has been broadened:

Patients with pain due to causes other than cancer are now offered the same high level of services previously afforded only to cancer patients. Many of the same techniques pioneered to treat cancer pain have been found to be helpful for pain due to other chronic conditions, in addition to treatments that are specific for various chronic pain conditions.

This has been a godsend for many since chronic pain sufferers are often mistaken for addicts and encounter rejection, unrealistic appraisal and abandonment. That is discouraging, dehumanizing and terribly wrong. While we still cannot be all things to all people you should anticipate a compassionate, pragmatic approach to your problem, what ever its nature. Expert consultation, medical treatment and interventional therapies are provided by an authoritative, professional yet extremely compassionate staff. While pain management is the center’s main focus, expert consultation and treatment is also rendered for other distressing symptoms like fatigue, breathlessness, nausea, poor appetite and others.
